Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

The assistant superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent in daily/monthly/yearly goal planning and execution.  Will be expected to efficiently complete tasks while simultaneously assisting in leading the team. Involvement in all technical aspects of the course, including cultural practices, fertilizer applications, chemical applications, irrigation repairs, and daily watering. Will play a critical role in building of a successful maintenance team.  Expected to conduct themselves professionally to the guests including on-course interactions and other aspects of the resort. The right individual will be self-reflective, ready to take on additional responsibility as skills develop. 

1. Participates in the maintenance of all surfaces of the golf course prioritizing turf health and playability.
2. Assists the superintendent in supervising the crew and daily work assignment.
3. Under the direction of superintendent, apply pesticides and fertility using variety of application equipment.
4. Works closely with superintendent to develop and execute agronomic plans including IPM schedules and cultural programs.
5. Daily note taking pertaining to course conditions, project completion, and irrigation system performance.
6. Perform all repairs and adjustments to irrigation system as needed.
7. Syringe greens during Summer afternoons.
8. Perform some light mechanical duties; have a basic knowledge of how each piece of equipment functions.

During the off season will be involved in winter operation of Skytop's ski area. Duties will include snow making, ski hill grooming, and lift operation. A great opportunity to develop professional skillset.
