Position Details Individual is responsible for: Supervision of staff in maintenance facility when needed and supervision of Assistant Equipment Manager. Have a good understanding of Golf Course Maintenance procedures. Individual must also possess: Previous work experience in golf course equipment management in the capacity of Head or Assistant Equipment Manager. Must have formal training or educational seminars in golf course equipment management. Responsibilities Include - Maintain a safe, clean, efficient repair shop and maintenance facility.
- Maintain timely of repairs of all golf course and landscape equipment.
- Communicate equipment needs and concerns with Superintendent/ Assistant.
- Oversee staff equipment operation and share in training with Assistant.
- Oversee and assist staff with proper cleaning of golf course equipment.
- Be available to discuss equipment concerns with operators.
- Monitor and maintain equipment parts inventory.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling and ordering equipment repair parts while monitoring the allocated monthly budget for R/M Equipment.
- Daily inspection of fuel storage facility and ordering of diesel and unleaded fuels.
- Provide monthly fuel allocation sheets to Golf Course Superintendent for accounting purposes.
- Maintain updated certifications and licenses for fuel storage facility and other hazardous storage needs in the golf course maintenance facility.
- Provide recommendations to superintendent/management for capital equipment purchases and upcoming needs for proper departmental operations
- Inspect the operation of equipment on the golf course. Morning review is required to ensure equipment performance is operating to standards and operators are properly operating equipment.
- Maintain inventory and assignment of personal protective equipment for staff
- Be direct supervisor for Assistant Equipment Manager
- Be active in continuing education to promote improved qualifications and maintain superior job performance and increase job related skills.
- Maintain all company on-road vehicles to include G&G and F&B vehicles.
- Employ Best Management Practices into facility operations
- Use experience and expertise in non-shop related projects
- Schedule monthly safety meetings with assistant superintendent and staff
- Supervise maintenance staff while in facility as needed
- Communicate with manufacturers on equipment warranty issues and service bulletins.
- Satisfy the need for fabrication of special use equipment and modifications as reviewed and approved by Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
- Be available to make needed pickups at stores and suppliers and/or drop offs of outside contractor equipment repair, parts pickup, equipment deliveries.
- Responsible to attend morning start-up meetings with staff and participate in the planning of daily tasks for golf course equipment operation.
Education, Experience and Attribute Expectations - Previous experience in a club or golf course setting prefered.
- Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in equipment repair and maintenance practices.
- Valid Driver's License
