Job Description: The golf course superintendent is a self-driven highly motivated individual that can demonstrate strong leadership skills to effectively lead their team. This person will be responsible for the care, operations, and maintenance of the golf course grounds and equipment. The golf course superintendent will be responsible to the golf course board of directors.
Interview, hire, and train employees
Properly maintain the golf course, clubhouse grounds, and surrounding areas.
Maintain a safe work environment
Chemical/fertilizer application to the greens, tees, and fairways.
Responsible for maintenance and repair to all turf equipment.
Responsible for all irrigation repairs and scheduling.
Tree trimming and planting.
Assists the board in developing the yearly operating budget for the grounds.
Provides daily leadership and guidance to all grounds team members.
Communicates with the clubhouse manager regarding course conditions, tournament setup, etc.
Responsible for regulatory reporting as required.
All other duties as required.
Prefer 2-4 year degree in turf grass management or other related field.
2+ years of golf course experience.
Strong knowledge of the game of golf.
Strong mechanical skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain a pesticide applicators license.
