2nd Assistant Superintendent

The 2^nd Assistant Superintendent position involves all facets of golf course management with an emphasis on irrigation, fertilizer/pesticide and employee management under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendents.

Supervises: Greenkeepers and Groundkeepers

• U.S. Women’s Open in 2021 – Current preparations have begun
• New Golf Maintenance facility to open in February 2020 – 27,000 square foot state-of-the art facility
• New John Deere equipment fleet in March 2020
• Extensive golf course drainage project to begin in Summer 2020
• New irrigation system to be installed property wide in 2021
• Awarded the U.S. Amateur 2025, 2028 PGA Championship and 2032 Ryder Cup
• Hired renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse, to complete a 45-hole Master Plan in Fall 2020

The Olympic Club will provide training in:

• All irrigation repair, watering techniques and nightly irrigation programming.
• Proper use of spray and fertilizer equipment, rate determinations and calibration techniques.
• Golf course construction principle, methods, and practices.
• Expand upon current knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices.
• The Olympic Club will pay for National and Local association dues and continual education expenses.
