The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Director of Agronomy and Golf Course Superintendent. He or she will assist with scheduling, performing, and supervising all golf course maintenance activities. This includes but is not limited to employee management/supervision, fertilizer/pesticide applications, daily water management, irrigation diagnosis/repair, and communicating with various outside contractors.
Assists in planning and supervising the maintenance of entire Blessings property.
Operates, maintains, diagnoses, and independently repairs golf course irrigation systems.
Leads in the calibration, application, and record keeping of scheduled sprayer/fertilizer requirements.
Intensive moisture management of A1/A4 creeping bentgrass greens and 'Cavalier’ zoysiagrass tees and fairways.
Supervises, trains, and encourages staff.
Participates in hiring, annual reviews, and terminations of subordinates.
Apply and enforce safety practices to ensure a safe work environment.
Provides written and oral instructions and examines work for thoroughness and attention to detail.
A minimum of working every other weekend will be required (in-season).

Proficiency in computer use, knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applications as specified by supervisor.

Knowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and willingness to learn.

Efficient at scheduling and supervising maintenance work daily.
Working knowledge of golf course irrigation systems.
Ability to calibrate and execute pesticide and fertilizer applications.
Spanish speaking is a plus, but not mandatory.
Ability to perform manual labor type tasks that would include but not be limited to; lifting 80 pounds, standing, walking, and crouching.
Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, wet, or humid conditions.
Well organized and detail oriented.
Engaging and respectful, with the ability to develop relationships within the Blessings Team.
