Pennyrile Forest State Park Golf Course
| Pennyrile Forest State Park Golf Course is located in Western Kentucky near Dawson Springs Kentucky. Course is comprised two distinctly different nine holes. The original 9 holes was designed by Larry Packard and built in 1963 and consists of modified native soil (pushup) Penncross greens with Midiron Bermuda tees, fairways and rough. The new nine holes was designed by Tim Liddy and opened in 2003 and consists of L-93 USGA Spec greens with Midiron bermuda tees, fairways and rough. Assigns and supervises mowing of all turf areas, and the performing of all agronomic practices required to manage a golf course. Inspects machinery and equipment to determine their operating condition and repair needs. Purchases supplies for the park and golf course. Performs public relations functions. Maintains operating records and makes reports of park and golf activities. Prepares reports, summaries and recommendations pertaining to golf course development. Some travel required for turf and department meetings and conferences. Overtime and weekends required periodically.

Minimum Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in Plant science or a related field, with an area of concentration in turfgrass management. Substitution Clause: Technical training in turfgrass management will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis. Experience as a Golf Course Superintendent will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Five years of experience as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will substitute for the required education.
