Golf Course Equipment Manager

Wakonda Club is excited to announce the exceptional opportunity of Golf Course Equipment Manager. Wakonda Club is an 18-Hole facility that annually hosts the Principal Charity Classic and is dedicated to providing its members, their families, and guests with a premier country club experience.

The Equipment Manager will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and should be self-motivated, have a positive attitude, and be proactive in their communication regarding equipment needs & repairs. On-the-job training with grinding/sharpening reel units and maintenance of golf course equipment will be facilitated by Wakonda Club staff, should it be required.        

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and perform preventative maintenance on all golf course equipment including diesel, electric, and gas-powered machinery
• With the assistance of the Management Team, instruct and train the maintenance staff regarding preventative maintenance, as well as the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment
• Must be aware of and implement all OSHA standards and regulations
• Oversees shop maintenance area, maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment in the field
• Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs, and preventive maintenance for all equipment
• Ability to work 45-55 hours per week in-season, including holidays and other special dates for tournaments as directed by the Superintendent
• Work with Golf Course Superintendent in developing annual operating and capital budgets
• Create, implement, and oversee an annual winter equipment maintenance schedule
• Communicate effectively and appropriately with departmental employees, vendors, and members of the Club
