| Located midway between historic Truckee, California and North Lake Tahoe, Martis Camp is a 2,177-acre private, luxury community. The grounds feature an 18-hole Tom Fazio designed golf course, practice facilities, a putting course, sports field, several community green spaces, and a private ski lodge. Martis Camp will also be the proud host of the USGA's 69th U.S. Senior Amateur in 2023.
The Assistant Superintendent at Martis Camp reports directly to Golf Course Superintendent. The Assistant directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course, practice field, and putting course. Over the next few years they will be involved in a number of capital improvements e.g., bunker renovation, turf resurfacing, expansion of an outdoor sporting complex, and numerous other project throughout the course and community facilities. Additionally, the assistant superintendents may be required to perform a variety of tasks within the community and club amenity areas to contribute to the overall success of the club.

Areas of Responsibility -Assist in the planning and scheduling of agronomic practices -Supervise and train employees on the proper use of all golf course equipment -Help with ongoing preparations for the 69th U.S. Senior Amateur in 2023 -Aid in the success of numerous capital improvement taking place over next few years. e.g., full bunker renovation, outdoor sports complex expansion, resurfacing of approaches and tees, construction of new tee boxes, cart path repairs, and numerous other projects. -Aid in personnel management, motivation, and evaluation -Pesticide and fertilizer application, calibration, and record keeping -Operation of all golf course equipment when necessary -Contribute to the maintenance, function, and performance of the irrigation system -Promote sound cultural practices to develop healthy and sustainable turfgrass -Provide assistance with the water quality monitoring program -Implement and conduct safety training programs for the seasonal staff -Assist with the Landscape Maintenance programs -Perform snow removal and Community Association duties in the winter months -Spanish speaking a plus
