An intern, under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent operates all types of equipment, and does related work as needed for the golf course maintenance department. An intern must be currently enrolled in a 2-4 year degree plan, or turf certificate program that strives towards providing it's students with the tool set necessary to succeed in turfgrass management upon graduation. Interns will be exposed to and will play an important role in our daily maintenance operation. Our internship program will consider the student’s goals and involve them in several aspects of golf course management.
Operates various mowers, string trimmers, aerifiers, and other important types of equipment.
Operates all equipment authorized by supervisor when needed.
Daily course set up
Daily hand watering of greens, tees, and fairways.
Helps in all project work; drainage, sod laying, preparing soil base, and any other projects that may arise through the season.
Participate in chemical and fertilizer applications under the supervision of our Chemical Technician.
Calibration of fertilizer and pesticides, along with recordkeeping of applications.
Assistance in irrigation repair and maintenance.
Training and supervising staff with equipment use.
Assisting with project management and work on special projects.
Communicates problems with playing conditions to supervisors immediately.
Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of all equipment.
Working knowledge of an ability to use hand and power tools and equipment.
Ability to follow oral and written directions, ability to take notes and ask questions.
Knowledge methods and materials used in golf course grounds maintenance work.
Be able to lift light to moderate equipment.
Be able to follow the company handbook.

Overtime is paid after 40 hours
