Lake Quivira Country Club is conveniently located in Lake Quivira, KS; one mile east of I-435 at exit 8A, off Holliday Drive, just north of Shawnee, KS. Johnson County and Wyandotte County. Lake Quivira is centrally located to downtown Kansas City, shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. Schools in the area are some of the best in the entire state.
The Equipment/Shop Manager is responsible for the maintaining of the entire equipment fleet for the Golf Course & Grounds Maintenance Department. This also includes management of the shop and its organization, cleanliness and functionality of equipment storage. A desire to work alongside the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents as well as the entire maintenance team is an absolute must. This position requires previous mechanic experience from small engine to large and experience working on hydraulic systems. A team member with positive attitude, highly detailed and always a helping hand that embodies finding solutions rather than pointing out the negatives is what we are looking for in this fun environment of serving others.
Timely equipment repairs along with proactive preventative maintenance on all equipment.
Record keeping along with maintaining appropriate part(s) inventory, equipment history/needs, and licensing as needed.
Great communication skills and budget management
Willing to train and mentor staff when necessary.
Maintain fuel inventories and state certifications/regulations regarding above ground fueling systems.
Be involved in capital equipment purchases/recommendations.
Active in continuing education to expand knowledge, understanding and workmanship quality.
Actively working with dealers/manufactures on equipment warranties, trouble shooting and recommendations.
Supervise “in shop” staff when other managers are out on property.
Ability to operate company vehicles for various part(s) runs when necessary and thus has a valid Kansas/Missouri Drivers License and a clean driving record for company insurance.
Participates in all staff meetings.
Occasionally works with the staff on the course or grounds when necessary.
Well rounded mechanic experience dealing with all different sizes of equipment and their repairs.
Previous golf fleet experience a plus, but not necessary. Willingness to learn.
