Turf Equipment Technician

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Daily mower set up and adjustments
• Adherence to a preventive maintenance schedule
• Inspect, diagnose and repair various mechanical, electrical and hydraulic failures and/or defects on a vast array of equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment that meets OSHA approved guidelines
• Procure and maintain a parts inventory with high-wear items and preventive maintenance needs
• Provides guidance and training to associate operators in proper equipment care and operator-responsible maintenance
• Keep updated and detailed repair and replacement records
• Additional tasks as assigned by department manager(s)

Required Experience:

• Mechanical experience to include gas and diesel engine maintenance and repair, hydraulic systems diagnosis and repair and electrical systems troubleshooting and repair.
• An above average understanding of the theory of reel geometry and setup.
• Ability to use personal computers, data input and basic word and excel programs.
• Must be able to write, read and comprehend the English language; Spanish speaking ability is not required but beneficial. Must be able to read and comprehend Service Manuals, Operators Manuals, schematic drawings and invoices.
• Ability to sit, stand and walk for various time periods in addition to comfortably lifting 50 or more pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to receive direction from department managers, yet be self-motivated to meet task deadlines and department goals.
• Timely and accurate repair procedures with a sense of urgency and an attention to detail
• Continuous learner with a positive and approachable attitude who can translate Continuous Measurable Improvement into a position requirement.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
