Normanside Country Club is semi private 18 hole golf course located just minutes away from Albany, New York. We are looking for a highly motivated person with a passion for golf course management to join our team. Our course is growing and improving at a rapid rate and has made a commitment to providing the resources and budget for that expansion. Our goal is to provide the highest quality conditions and experience to our members and guests. The Assistant Superintendent will ensure the daily care, maintenance, and renovations to the golf course are are done at the highest level of quality. This is a full time year round position.
Schedule and manage daily golf course practices
Work hand in hand with the superintendent to develop and implement an agronomic program.
Apply fertilizer and plant protectant products
Maintain and monitor irrigation system
Recruit, train, and supervise staff in season with safety and accountability being the primary goal.
Lead and direct teams for projects and tasks
Must be able to safely operate equipment related to in house golf course improvement projects
Operate equipment including but not limited to mowers, tractors, aerators, blowers, trimmers, edgers, chainsaws, and snow removal equipment
Minimum of 2 years experience in golf course maintenance
Turf Management education preferred
Must obtain New York State Pesticide Technician License within 6 months
Must be able to perform physical work on a daily basis
Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
Must be able to work in a variety of climates including extreme heat and cold

About Normanside Country Club
Normanside Country Club opened its golf course in 1927. The course was designed by William Harries. During its many years of play, it has hosted many New York State Golf Association and United States Golf Association events. Notable among them are the 1952 Empire State Open and the 1996 NYSGA Mid-Amateur Championship and the 2003 and 2008 NYS Senior Amateur Championship. Normanside has also served as a qualifying site for state and national events.
