Canyon River Golf Club opened for play in 2006 and was designed by the internationally acclaimed Schmidt-Curley golf design firm. It is a public course featuring 18 challenging holes that wind through native grasses and towering pine trees. Canyon River Golf Club was recently host to the Pacific Northwest PGA section championship in 2020 and is looking forward to hosting the 2021 Montana Men's and Senior State Amateur Tournament.
The responsibilities of the assistant superintendent include but are not limited to the following:
Training of staff in all areas of course maintenance including equipment use and care
Task planning and scheduling
Assisting/supervising of chemical and fertilizer applications
Irrigation maintenance, monitoring, and scheduling
Preparing weekly, monthly, and annual reports
Winter snow removal
The following requirements are preferred, but having a positive attitude matched with a desire to succeed in this industry are the most important qualities of the desired candidate.
2-3 years of verifiable golf course experience as a 1st or 2nd assistant
2 or 4 year degree/certificate from an accredited turf management program
Working knowledge of Rain Bird irrigation sprinklers, controllers, and central (Cirrus)
Must have or be able to attain a Montana pesticide license
