Nestled in the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, The Oak Park Country Club is a private, full service, 18-hole golf and country club.  The Oak Park Country Club was designed by architect Donald J. Ross in 1914 and renovated in 2007 by architect Rick Jacobson.  Behind the red brick facade surrounded by a world class Donald Ross course is over a century's worth of rich history.  Cultivated by a passionate membership, influential golf professionals (that changed the face of the game), and long standing prestigious tournaments. The Oak Park Country Club takes pride in its historical roots and continues to strive to make history in the future.  The real essence of the Club is the genuine sense of community and camaraderie between its members. The Oak Park Country Club is the perfect place to relax, golf, socialize and gather with family and friends.

Currently The Oak Park Country Club is looking for 2021 interns.  The right individual will be a core member of our team and have many opportunities to to advance their career and education in the turf management industry.  Good work ethic, positive attitude, and goal-oriented are some of the attributes the right candidate will possess.  The internship will give the individual a look at every facet of maintaining a golf course at the highest level.  Interns will be given detailed training on several key areas of golf course management but not limited to:

  • Chemical and fertilizer calibration
  • Application of chemicals and fertilizers
  • Boom spray and spray hawk 
  • Water management practices
  • Hand watering
  • Irrigation troubleshooting and repair
  • Agronomic philosophy
  • Cultural practices

We are looking for someone who is ready to learn and jump right into the action.  We put an emphasis on promoting from within and hope that you would want to continue on as a future member of our team.

Education Requirements: Currently enrolled in a 2-4 year degree or certificate program in turf management or related field.

Experience Requirements: Prefer at least 1 year of golf course maintenance.
