We are currently looking to fill multiple internship roles on The Country Club Agronomy Team for 2021. We are seeking highly motivated and passionate candidates, with a team-first mentality and positive attitude. You should be currently enrolled in a Turf or Horticulture program with a career goal of becoming a Golf Course Superintendent. 1-2 years’ experience on a golf course agronomy team is preferred, but not required. Interns will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendents on a daily basis, and will be exposed to all facets of golf course maintenance including but not limited to; Course setup, mowing, bunker maintenance, machine operation, irrigation troubleshooting and repair, chemical/fertilizer applications as well calibrating and record keeping, mower setup and reel/bed knife grinding, crew management, and gaining experience with moisture management and a hand watering/syringing program on Bentgrass greens.

About The Country Club
The Country Club of Salt Lake City was incorporated in 1899 and is one of the oldest country clubs in The Great American West. In 1920 the club moved to its current location and the Willie Watson & Harold Lamb designed golf course officially opened in 1921. It most recently hosted the 2016 PAC-12 Championship, but in the past has held many PGA events. This private, par 72 18-hole golf course is nestled on the Salt Lake City bench surrounded by city and valley views as well as the towering Wasatch Mountains. The greens are Poa-free A4 Bentgrass, while the tees and fairways are a blend of Perennial Ryegrass and Kentucky Bluegrass. The course underwent a renovation in 2007, including but not limited to, irrigation and converting to USGA spec greens. The golf course is kept at tournament-ready conditions on a daily basis to fulfill the high standards and expectations of the membership.
