Reid Park golf course in Springfield, Ohio is seeking a full-time Golf Course Superintendent who will be responsible for all aspects of golf course maintenance, agronomy, equipment and maintenance staff.
The golf course superintendent is responsible for all areas of golf course maintenance. This includes (but not limited to) hiring / training / development / scheduling and organized management of employees, fertilizer and chemical applications, landscaping, irrigation scheduling, repair and maintenance, equipment maintenance and detailed record keeping.
Oversee and participate in the overall care and maintenance of turf grass, bunkers & landscaping in areas of responsibility.
Oversight of grounds crew.
Ability to train and supervise current and incoming staff team members.
Strong background in chemical and fertilizer applications, irrigation technology and watering, and safe usage of equipment.
Ability to adhere to local and state ecological & reporting requirements.
Create and follow annual agronomic plan & budget.
Must be proficient in leading a highly effective work team and demonstrate a positive example.
Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings and evenings as business and course condition demands.
Degree or certificate in Turf Grass Management
3-5 years of progressive golf turf management experience.
Ability to lift 50 pounds independently and fulfill physical requirements of the position
