The Group Service Manager is entrusted in overseeing the maintenance of machinery, creating service records, maintaining inventory records and management of the Golf Saudi Maintenance facilities. The role oversees the workshop staff on all properties of Golf Saudi, Trains and develops staff in all aspects of machinery maintenance with a hands on approach.
The following will be expected from someone in this position:
Oversee Workshop staff on all properties of Golf Saudi
Trains Workshop staff in all aspects of machinery maintenance
Install and implement records while ensuring they are maintained in all properties
Maintains a preventative maintenance programme on all equipment belonging to Golf Saudi.
Places orders for parts/ supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses and inventories for budget purposes.
Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses and repairs mechanical defects of many types of golf course maintenance equipment.
Trains, Inspects and oversees mower grinding/sharpening, performs general overhaul of motors, reels, install and adjusts braking systems.
Trains, Inspects and oversees machining or welding work in making fittings used in repair of maintenance equipment.
Maintains records of preventative maintenance, repairs made, parts ordered.
Working knowledge of light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus.
Skilled in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools and in the making of various types of mechanical repairs.
Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Attends departmental meetings.
Knowledge of the theory, care and operation of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems and of mowing equipment maintenance such as grinding, sharpening and adjustment.
Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and schedule appropriate preventative maintenance work.
Manage others in a productive and safe manner that maximises the output and fulfilment of each employee under the supervision of the position and provide adequate feedback and review.
Manage expenses in the maintenance of the equipment fleet relating to parts purchases, inventory levels, service work, fuel inventories and related items
Set up workshops on newly built properties
Advise in the design of Maintenance Facilities on future projects
Assist in creating and implementing educational pathway to create Service Managers of the future
Knowledge of maintaining machinery in line with manufacturers warranties
Industry recognized qualification in machinery maintenance.
Recognised Training Certificates from Golf industry suppliers
2-3 years as a Service Manager, Head Mechanic or similar in a Golf Course Facility
Supervision of a large team of associates, multi-cultural preferred.
Experience of a wide range of Golf course specific machinery.
Requires advanced knowledge of turf grass machinery; a working knowledge of golf course maintenance facility design and construction principles, practices and preventative maintenance methods.
Requires a high degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in terms of problem solving and decision making.
Requires excellent oral and written communications skills.
Valid driving license.
Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
