Brookside Country Club is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Equipment Manager position. This is a full-time, year-round position. The Equipment fleet is mostly John Deere.
Diagnose and repair various gas and diesel golf course equipment.
Explain proper cleaning and safe operation of equipment to operators.
Equipment repair and maintenance review with Superintendent.
Maintain a preventative maintenance program within a budget on all equipment, repair parts, and supplies.
Keep records for all aspects of equipment maintenance.
Routine on course equipment checks.
Oversee shop area maintenance and safety.
Manage use of equipment in the absence of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
Perform other duties outside of equipment maintenance when assigned by Supt/Asst Supt.
Perform reel and rotary blade sharpening, grinding, and height maintenance.
Maintain and promote a safe workplace inside and outside the maintenance facility.
Stay current on technological advances and diagnostics of equipment.
May be required to work over 40 hours per week including weekends.
Working knowledge of reel grinding, grinding equipment, and bench set-up.
Skilled in the use of golf course equipment.
Practical Experience with care and operation of internal combustion engines.
Practical knowledge of the safety precautions associated with the profession.
Ability to move heavy objects and lift up to 30 lbs. Be in good physical condition. Position may require long periods of physical endurance.
Able to work in all weather conditions while making repairs.
Ability to diagnose and determine proper repairs on equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively and keep maintenance records.
Understanding of how job performance affects the playing conditions on the course.
Respectful communication and working relationships with staff, managers, and the public.
Use of Word and Excel for record keeping.
Minimum 3 years previous experience at a golf facility as an Equipment Manager/Assistant Equipment Manager.
Able to work under pressure and adjust to current maintenance needs.
Must have valid PA driver’s license.
