Assists in planning, laying out and supervising the construction and maintenance of the golf course and property; organizes work and supervises subordinate employees in the use of equipment and materials in building and maintaining greens, fairways, tees, roughs, landscapes, etc.; supervises the repair and maintenance of all mechanical equipment; instructs operators in the operation and care of mowing and other equipment; supervises and participates in the maintenance of pumps, irrigation system, drainage systems; applies and supervises the application of pesticides and fertilizers; aerates and topdresses turf; operates golf course equipment; prepares and maintains operational and inventory records; performs other duties as assigned.
Graduation from a standard senior high school, or completion of GED test, and a minimum of three years supervisory experience in golf course construction, maintenance and repair; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

About Azalea City Golf Course
Azalea City Golf Course is a highly successful municipal golf course owned and operated by the City of Mobile, Alabama. Built in 1957 as a recreational facility for all citizens of Mobile and the surrounding area, Azalea City hosts 45,000 rounds per year on an 18 hole golf course and driving range. The greens were rebuilt in 1998 with Champion Ultradwarf bermudagrass. The maintenance facility was constructed in 2001. The clubhouse was renovated in 2009. The irrigation system was partially updated in 2019. The budget, staff size and fleet of equipment is moderate for this size facility.
