The assistant golf course superintendent, under the superintendent’s direction, supervises and participates in the maintenance of golf course tees, greens, fairways, roughs, bunkers, cart paths, irrigation systems, and the equipment maintenance and repair operation. The assistant superintendent serves in the superintendent’s capacity in his absence. Supervisors: Superintendent, General Manager, Director of Golf Supervises: Golf Course Equipment Manager, 2nd Assistant in Training, Horticulturalist, Spray Technician, Irrigation Technician, Groundskeepers, Equipment Operators. Essential Job Functions:
Ensure, on a daily basis, the golf course is in the best possible playing condition; see that assignments are being accomplished in an exceptional manner.
Use Fairway IQ and Task tracker in planning and supervision of maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs. Modify schedules and priorities based on work load and change in weather conditions.
Under direction of the superintendent, schedule and supervise daily assignments in such as way that achieves maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
Oversee all maintenance and horticulture activities around clubhouse, pool, parking, turn, and entry corridor from Le Triomphe Parkway to clubhouse.
Manage fuel logs and hourly employee payroll time reports. Submit those reports on a weekly basis to the administrative department.
Train and instruct operators in proper care, operation, and safety of all equipment.
Ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned and stored in its proper place at the end of each work day.
Oversee maintenance and repair of all irrigation systems and components; ensure system performs properly.
Assist in personnel management, discipline, and evaluation. Communicate closely with superintendent in all personnel matters.
Strive to exceed general expectations for playing conditions on weekends, especially in the absence of the superintendent.
Communicate with all golf operations personnel and members on an ongoing basis to ensure golf course is being maintained in exceptional playing condition.
Remain current on best practice through continuing education opportunities and networking
Responsible for equipment list for all of maintenance. Must work with controller to ensure equipment list is accurate.
Candidate must have Turf Management or Turf Related Degree

Recognition and emphasis of details with regard for exceptional playing conditions
Embraces technology and is highly computer literate. Fairway IQ and tasktracker knowledge base is highly desirable

Additional Salary Information: Base Salary $55,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience
